Ball & Ball Covent Garden is London's best sports bars in the heart of West London. The venue not only shows live sport but also features their own exciting bar sports such as ping pong, interactive darts and pool. The venue had an old unreliable goods scissor lift that was constantly breaking down and had reached its end of life. Access Lifts worked with the client to offer a full turnkey package, including removal of the existing lift and supply and installation of a new lifts well as infill trim finishes around the landing entrances.
The existing lift had difficult to open bolton shutter gates at each landing which could make deliveries difficult if there was only one member of staff on site. During the removal the engineering team found that the existing lift was infact 2 hydraulic scissor lifts that had been fixed and welded on top of one another. Oxy-acetylene cutting was used to remove the larger items from site.
The new lift has a 1500mm x 1950mm lift car with an 1000kg safe working load. This allows members of staff to easily move their large weekly deliveries of beer and move their large Eurobins daily through the two levels of the pub. They feature press once controls like a normal passenger lift, only require low pit of 300mm and low headroom of 2800mm and have a wide range of finishes to complement a specific project. This lift at Bat & Ball Covent Garden has brushed stainless steel finishes inside and out which allows it be completely clean for customer facing equipment. The lift has 1200mm x 1900mm 3 panel side opening automatic doors. The floor is hard wearing chequer plate flooring to keep pace with the everyday wear and tear of a busy hospitality venue.
