Excalibur House is a commercial building located in Leyton, East London. The property consists of a 3 floor large commercial development on a busy trading estate. Access Lifts were originally asked to specify a 26 person goods passenger lift through Dovetail Architects and Emerson Willis Building Contractors have previously worked with the two companies on projects at Sovereign House and Monarch House in Basildon.
After further discussions around the design of the lift, Access Lifts proposed an external goods cabin lift with the building which would require less enabling works with a shallower pit, lower headroom and was fitted in its own external steel structure.
The lift has a 1500mm x 1500mm car with manual folding doors on 2 sides with a through car configuration. This allows goods from outside to be taken directly into the building and up to the chosen floor. The lift has 1200mm wide clear openings so that an euro pallet can be put into the lift on a pallet truck and be transported to the desired level. The lift features a 1000kg safe working load and is clad with steel panels on all sides. All external steelwork is hot dipped galvanised steel which is then powder-coated Anthracite Grey - RAL 7016 to match the accents of the building and the building’s cladding.
