Unity Place is the new headquarters for Santander operations in the UK in the heart of Milton Keynes. The site consists of multi-floor office space with large roof gardens, extensive food and drink outlets as well as conference space. The new site represents a £150m investment to create state of the art campus for over 6000 employees.
The main contractor, Sisk, approached Access Lifts in Summer 2022 to specify 3 platform lifts for the ground floor. These would include an open platform lift in the main atrium, a cabin lift within a new retail space and a cabin lift within a new brasserie, both to new mezzanines.
The open platform lift provides access across the split level on the ground floor with a level change of around 1.3 metres. The lift is finished with frameless glass panels with all exposed steelwork powder-coated in RAL 7016 - Anthracite Grey.
The cabin lift within the new retail space provides access to the upper level of a break out space with a travel of around 3 metres. The cabin lift comes within its own supporting steel structure with swing landing glass doors. The lift was finished with black corrugated steel cladding to create an industrial effect which matches the overall style of the building.
The lift within the brasserie provides access to the mezzanine level and allows wheelchair user to dine upstairs. The lift has a travel of around 4 metres and comes within a supporting steel structure which is powder-coated black. The infill cladding was black plastic panels.
The whole package was completed in early 2024.
